On December 18, 2019, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov chaired a meeting of the Foreign Ministry Academic Council held at the Russian Academy of Sciences Primakov Institute of World Economy and International Relations (IMEMO).

The meeting focused on a broad range of issues of the formation of a new world order and foreign policy tasks for the Russian Federation arising in this context. A comprehensive report was made by Alexander Dynkin, RIAC Member, President of IMEMO. Andrey Kortunov, RIAC Director General, provided comments to the report.

RIAC members Alexey Arbatov, Vladimir Baranovsky, Alexey Vasiliev, Ruslan Grinberg, Anatoly Gromyko, Vladimir Davydov, and Sergey Rogov took part in the following discussion.

The participants reaffirmed the importance of continued joint efforts by diplomats and academics aimed at further development and improvement of Russia’s foreign policy conceptual framework.
