Mahmoud Abbas, the President of the State of Palestine, awarded the Order of Friendship to Vitaly Naumkin, Academic Director of RAS Institute for Oriental Studies.

TASS reported, on Wednesday the award was presented by Abdel Hafiz Nofal, Palestinian Ambassador to the Russian Federation, at the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

TASS reported, on Wednesday the award was presented by Abdel Hafiz Nofal, Palestinian Ambassador to the Russian Federation, at the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

“On the eve of the International Day of Solidarity with the People of Palestine, President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas decided to award Vitaly Naumkin with a state award in recognition of his role in strengthening Palestinian-Russian relations,” the Ambassador said. “Naumkin is one of those who engineer good relations between our countries.”

Nofal read Abbas’s message with high appreciation of Naumkin’s efforts “in support of the Palestinian people, in the name of a just cause and [the Palestinians’] struggle for freedom and independence.”
