On July 1, 2021, Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) held an expert meeting on low-carbon development strategies of Russia and Armenia. The event was held under the Chatham House Rule.

The discussion focused on the possibilities of energy transition in Russia and Armenia, the impact of the European Green Deal on the economies of the two countries, the creation of mechanisms for greenhouse gas accounting consensual for all parties involved, and other issues.

The discussion focused on the possibilities of energy transition in Russia and Armenia, the impact of the European Green Deal on the economies of the two countries, the creation of mechanisms for greenhouse gas accounting consensual for all parties involved, and other issues.

The meeting was attended by Igor Ivanov, RIAC President; Ivan Timofeev, RIAC Director of Programs; Anatoly Chubais, Special Presidential Representative for Relations with International Organizations to Achieve Sustainable Development Goals; Avag Avanesyan, Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Investments of the Republic of Armenia; Vladimir Mau, Rector of the Russian Federation (RF) Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration; Ruben Enikolopov, Rector, New Economic School; Samvel Lazaryan, Head of Macroeconomic Analysis Division, Financial Research Institute of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation; Ruben Vardanyan, social entrepreneur and investor; David Tavadyan, Founding Partner of Futures Studio Project; Elena Karpinskaya, RIAC Deputy Director of Programs; and Konstantin Sukhoverkhov, RIAC Program Coordinator.
