On February 1, 2016 the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) hosted the award ceremony for the 5th Russian Contest of Young International Affairs Journalists organized by RIAC together with the “International Affairs” journal and the Russian Union of Journalists. The contestants were judged by the Jury chaired by RIAC President Igor Ivanov. Other members included Andrey Kortunov, RIAC Director General; Fyodor Lukyanov, Editor-in-Chief of Russia in Global Affairs journal and President of Council on Foreign and Defense Policy; Armen Oganesyan, Editor-in-Chief of "International Affairs" journal; Vsevolod Bogdanov, Chairman of the Russian Union of Journalists; Ivan Timofeev, RIAC Director of Programs;  Mikhail Komissar, Director General of Interfax Information Agency; Dmitri Gornostaev, Deputy Editor-in-Chief, Director of News at RIA Novosti; Pyotr Stegny, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation; Galina Dudina, Diplomatic correspondent at Kommersant newspaper; and independent journalist Tatiana Dvornikova.
