On May 29, 2015, RIAC and RAS Institute for Far Eastern Studies held international conference “Russia and China: a New Partnership in the Changing World”, which gathered about 500 representatives of Russian and Chinese governments, expert community and civil society.
The conference was opened by addresses of RIAC President Igor Ivanov, Chinese Ambassador to Russia Li Hui and Chairman of Russia Section at Russia-China Friendship Committee Boris Titov, a RIAC member, and attended by Director of RAS Institute for Far Eastern Studies Sergey Luzyanin; Deputy Energy Minister Anatoly Yanovsky; Deputy Transportation Minister Alexei Tsydenov; Deputy Minster for Far East Development Maxim Shereikin; Chairman of Federation Council Foreign Affairs Committee Konstantin Kosachev, a RIAC member; Coordinator of Deputies’ Group on Relations with China’s Parliament Vassily Likhachev; Transneft Vice President Mikhail Margelov, RIAC Vice President; Rossya TV Channel Deputy Director Sergey Brilyov, a RIAC member; Editor-in-Chief of International Affairs magazine Armen Oganesyan, a RIAC member; and Editor-in-Chief of Russia in Global Affairs magazine Fyodor Lukyanov.
The discussion was focused on key areas of Russian-Chinese cooperation on the bilateral and multilateral levels with special attention to infrastructural and economic cooperation in Eurasia.
