On September 29, 2020, international debates on the possible role of France and the European Union as a whole in resolving the political crisis in Belarus were facilitated by France 24, a French television network.

The discussion was timed to the visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Lithuania and his meeting with Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, one of the leaders of the Belarusian opposition. The participants of the debate included Professor Anastasia Shapochkina, Sciences Po University of Paris; Professor Tatsiana Chulitskaya, Vytautas Magnus University, Kaunas; Witold Waszczykowski, former Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs; and Andrey Kortunov, RIAC Director General.
