On April 12, 2022, Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) and Gateway House held a closed-door round table titled “Russia-India Cooperation under the Impact of Sanctions”.

Russian and Indian experts discussed general trends of bilateral collaboration as well as emerging obstacles and new windows for cooperation under mounting sanctions pressure from the West. Special attention was paid to the energy and finance areas.

Ivan Timofeev, RIAC Director of Programs, Manjeet Kripalani, Executive Director of the Gateway House, D B Venkatesh Varma, Former Ambassador of India to Russia, Lidia Kulik, Head of India Studies at SKOLKOVO Institute for Emerging Markets and Research Fellow at the Center for Indian Studies of the RAS Institute of Oriental Studies, Amit Bhandari, Senior Fellow for Energy, Investment and Connectivity at the Gateway House, David Rasquinha, Former Managing Director of Exim Bank India, Sanjay Anandaram, Ambassador of iSpirit and other specialists took part in the discussion. Ksenia Kuzmina, RIAC Deputy Director of Programs, moderated the round table.
