On February 12, 2020, Abdul-Rahman Hamid Al-Husseini, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Moscow, visited RIAC.

Andrey Kortunov, RIAC Director General, and Ruslan Mamedov, RIAC Program Coordinator, had a meeting with the Ambassador.

On February 12, 2020, Abdul-Rahman Hamid Al-Husseini, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Moscow, visited RIAC.

Andrey Kortunov, RIAC Director General, and Ruslan Mamedov, RIAC Program Coordinator, had a meeting with the Ambassador.

Andrey Kortunov and Ambassador Al-Husseini discussed RIAC interaction with partner think tanks in Iraq and expressed the need to promote strategic vision in relations between Moscow and Baghdad and in the context of regional security in the Middle East. In addition, the parties touched upon the current state of bilateral cooperation between Russia and Iraq, underscoring the high level of cooperation in military and technical sphere and in the energy sector. The participants of the meeting emphasized the importance of developing humanitarian ties between the two countries.

The Council and the Embassy indicated their intention to further advance the work of Russian and Iraqi think tanks, as well as to strengthen contacts between them.
