On February 4, 2022 the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) briefed the experts from the Vivekananda International Foundation (VIF, India) on the recent developments in the Russia — West relations and the escalation of the situation in and around Ukraine.

Andrey Kortunov, RIAC Director General, delivered welcoming remarks. Yulia Nikitina, Associate Professor at the Department of World Politics and Leading Research Fellow at the Center for Eurasian Studies, MGIMO University; Ekaterina Chimiris, Head of the Center of Social and Political Studies of the Institute of Integration Process Development, Russian Foreign Trade Academy; and Sergey Utkin, Head of the Group for Strategic Assessment, Primakov Institute of World Economy and International Relations, RAS, were among the speakers. Ksenia Kuzmina, RIAC Deputy Director of Programs, moderated the discussion.

The lively Q&A session was chaired by Arvind Gupta, VIF Director. Participants noted how timely and helpful the event was in forming comprehensive and impartial understanding of the events in Europe.
