On January 22, 2018, in Berlin, Friedrich Ebert Foundation with the support of German Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Centre for OSCE Research, and the Institute for Peace Research and Security Policy (IFSH) held International Conference «From Cold War to New European Security System: Steps Towards De-Escalation».

On January 22, 2018, in Berlin, Friedrich Ebert Foundation with the support of German Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Centre for OSCE Research, and the Institute for Peace Research and Security Policy (IFSH) held International Conference «From Cold War to New European Security System: Steps Towards De-Escalation».

The Conference was held in tribute to Ambassador Gernot Erler’s multi-year work and achievements in the area of relations between Germany and the countries of Eastern Europe.

German and foreign experts, government officials, representatives of German political foundations and non-profit organizations, as well as the representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in Berlin, including Russian Embassy, took part in the conference. Andrey Kortunov, RIAC Director General, and Markus Ederer, Ambassador of the European Union to the Russian Federation, made speeches at the first session of the Conference.
