On November 14–15, 2022, 9th Annual Abu Dhabi Strategic Debate is being held in Abu Dhabi (UAE). It is one of the main regional platforms to discuss security issues in the Middle East and global security, long-term trends in the development of the system of international relations and the world economy.

The debate is hosted by Emirates Policy Center and this year is attended by over 600 experts, diplomats, journalists, public figures, and businessmen from Western Asia and other regions of the world.

On November 14–15, 2022, 9th Annual Abu Dhabi Strategic Debate is being held in Abu Dhabi (UAE). It is one of the main regional platforms to discuss security issues in the Middle East and global security, long-term trends in the development of the system of international relations and the world economy.

The debate is hosted by Emirates Policy Center and this year is attended by over 600 experts, diplomats, journalists, public figures, and businessmen from Western Asia and other regions of the world.

Particular attention during the discussion was paid to the role of the Gulf states and their partners in the changing global order and the system of regional security. Active discussions include forecasts for the development of international organizations, the system of international public law, multilateralism, and security regimes in innovative technologies management.

Russian International Affairs Council has been participating in the work of the Debate since 2013. The speakers of the current session included: Sergey Karaganov, Academic Supervisor of the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs at HSE, RIAC Member; and Andrey Kortunov, RIAC Director General. The event was also attended by Timur Zabirov, Russia’s Ambassador to the UAE; Andrei Bystritsky, Chairman of the Board of the Foundation for Development and Support of the Valdai Discussion Club; and other representatives of the Valdai Club. On the margins of the Debate, RIAC representatives held consultations with a number of think tanks from Western Asia regarding the possibilities of institutional partnership.
