Maximize chances for Ireland amid Brexit calamity

Brexit is a calamity.

For the Irish border, Brexit is a travesty. Brexit creates uncertainty about the continued peace in the north of Ireland.

For the Republic of Ireland, Brexit also means complications for trade, not only with Northern Ireland but also with the Republic of Ireland’s largest market and trading partner, the island of Britain.

However, Brexit also opens chances for Ireland.

The Republic of Ireland and the EU should work together to maximize Ireland’s advantage

I have always maintained that amid all the gloom - Brexit also opens chances for the Republic of Ireland.

For instance, the City of Dublin can gain a lot of business, as the City of London leaves the EU. Now we have the first proof that my vision for Ireland is correct: Google big-tech, on the verge of Brexit, suddenly moves a finance center of business from the UK to Ireland

Just a few days before the Brexit deadline, Google quickly moves a pivotal finance-company to the EU-member, Republic of Ireland, even in spite of the heavy fine, which the EU imposed on Google in Ireland. This bears proof to my assessment, that the Republic of Ireland with Brexit will now become a destination of paramount importance for top-tier multinational companies. Ireland was always unique – with Brexit, Ireland in new ways becomes even more unique for global business.

We must wish for the people of Ireland, that the EU together with the Republic of Ireland will maximize all the opportunities, which Ireland can gain from Brexit - including taking all the many businesses over to Ireland - finance, trade, airline connections, industry, services, tourism – university and education for internationals - which England will now lose because of England’s self-inflicted disaster when they leave the EU.

As for the north of Ireland, demographics are changing, and all people there (Unionists and Republicans alike) can see more and more, how living standards in the Republic of Ireland are advancing ahead. So who knows, though Brexit may lead to more suffering in the north of Ireland the first coming years, in the end, Brexit might perhaps even pave the way for a border referendum to reunite all the island of Ireland.

Let the EU and the Republic of Ireland maximize all the chances that Ireland can gain from Brexit.
