The problem of trust, to be precise, the very obvious lack of it, is considered one of the key problems of the modern world. International consulting company «Edelman Intelligence» shared «The 2017 Edelman Trust Barometer» basing on the survey conducted among 33, 000 respondents from 28 countries. The report states a sharp decline in trust towards main government institutions, private entities, mass media and system as a whole.

On the average, only 15% of the population are convinced that "the system" works, 43% do not have faith in it anymore and 32% cannot give an answer.

Another telling fact is that over 75% respondents consider the actions taken by the "system" to be aimed against "ordinary people" in protection of elite's interests.

Another telling fact is that over 75% respondents consider the actions taken by the "system" to be aimed against "ordinary people" in protection of elite's interests. In fact, the steepest decrease in trust affected not the institutions of power, but their leadership (both political and top-managers) and the expert community.

Heads of government are subject to most suspiciousness - only 29% of respondents are willing to trust them.

According to suveys, Russia is among those countries where trust issue is among burning ones.
