On April 27, 2018, a round table discussion "Effective Personnel Strategy in the Higher Education System: Offer and Demand" was held within the framework of the Russian-Japanese forum organized by Rossiyskaya Gazeta.

Ivan Timofeev moderated the discussion and noted that it is important for universities to understand the requests of the companies for the skills and competencies of future employees.

Alexander Panov, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Japan (1996–2003), RIAC Member, drew attention to the need for additional training for the specialists when concluding an employment contract. For example, it would be useful for Russian specialists to get advanced training to work in Japanese companies on the territory of Russia. And management should be the key focus in the training for young specialists.

These processes directly depend on the development of bilateral economic relations.

The discussion focused on the following questions: What are the differences between Russian and Japanese employees? What skills need to be developed among students so that they are in demand by employers? How to combine learning the language and corporate culture?
