On February 9, 2018, Kathleen Kavalec, Deputy Assistant Secretary, Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs, Department of State, senior official of the State Department responsible for the U.S.— Russia relations, visited Russian International Affairs Council.

The following topical issues were discussed in the course of the meeting: bilateral relations, the problems of the Ukrainian crisis resolution, the prospects for the elimination of nuclear weapons on the Korean peninsula, and the possibility of changing the regime of American sanctions against Russia.

The staff of the U.S. Embassy in Moscow took part in the meeting.
