On Monday, May 21, 2018, in Russian State University for the Humanities, RIAC representatives took part in the presentation of signing an agreement on scientific and cultural cooperation between the Sudan’s Abdulatif Alhamad University of Technology and Russian State University for the Humanities (RSUH).

Dr. Nadir Yousef Babiker, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Sudan in Moscow, delivered an open lecture for guests, experts, and students of the RSUH on the current state of Russian-Sudanese relations and encouraged the audience to learn about Sudanese culture and history.

On Monday, May 21, 2018, in Russian State University for the Humanities, RIAC representatives took part in the presentation of signing an agreement on scientific and cultural cooperation between the Sudan’s Abdulatif Alhamad University of Technology and Russian State University for the Humanities (RSUH).

Dr. Nadir Yousef Babiker, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Sudan in Moscow, delivered an open lecture for guests, experts, and students of the RSUH on the current state of Russian-Sudanese relations and encouraged the audience to learn about Sudanese culture and history.

Vera Zabotkina, Vice-Rector of the Russian State University for the Humanities, made an opening speech, greeted the participants of the event, and made a presentation of the project on the development of cross-university cooperation. Eleonora Kormysheva, Director of theEgyptology Center at RSUH, Head of the special historical disciplines sector of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, elaborated more about the agreement between the universities. It was noted that the agreement involves interaction in the area of history and archeology (Sudan has unique monuments of ancient culture). Rasul Botashev, Deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, member of the International Affairs Committee, noted the intensification of ties and the convergence of interests and views in international affairs. Arthur Safukov, Russia’s MFA Representative, and Ruslan Mamedov, RIAC Program Assistant, made comments.

The meeting was attended by students and staff of the Russian State University for the Humanities, representatives of the Sudanese Embassy in Russia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, and Russian scientific and research centers.
