On May 24, Moscow hosted a high-level expert meeting with the delegation of Korean authorities headed by Song Young-gil, Special Presidential Envoy of Republic of Korea. Korean delegation also included members of National Assembly, representatives of Korean Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Park Ro-byug, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of South Korea to Russia. Russian side was represented by Evgeny Bazhanov, Rector of Diplomatic Academy of Russian Foreign Ministry, Director of Russia Institute of the USA and Canada Studies Valery Garbuzov as well as Andrey Kortunov, RIAC Director General.

The meeting covered the development of bilateral relations between Russia and Republic of Korea, security issues in Korean peninsula and Northeast Asia on the whole.
