On November 9, 2018, University of Bologna (Italy), Forli School of Political Science and International Relations, hosted a seminar on the theme “Russia's Migration Strategy: New Challenges”.

Elena Alekseenkova, RIAC Program Manager, gave a lecture for students and general audience. The event was held as part of DimEAST Seminars Series "Europe's Eastern Challenges: Understanding the Diversity of Migration in the Neighboring Regions”.

The participants discussed the demographic issues and migration challenges in Russia, the situation in the Central Asian states provoking outflow of migrants, common threats for Russia and the EU in terms of radicalization and the spread of extremism, as well as opportunities for cooperation between Russia and the EU and sharing best practices on migrant integration and adjustment.
