On November 30 – December 2, 2017, Rome hosted the third annual international conference, MED2017, on security and development issues in Mediterranean region.
The conference organized by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Italian Institute for International Political Studies (ISPI) since 2015 has become one of the key and representative social-political and expert international forums; heads of states, ministers of foreign affairs of the countries of the region, leading experts, diplomats, public figures, and businessmen take part in this event.

Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, made a speech at the conference. Alexandr Dynkin, President of IMEMO, RAS Full Member, Andrey Kortunov, RIAC Director General, Sergey Razov, RIAC Member, Ambassador of the Russian Federation in the Italian Republic, also took part in the work of MED2017 forum.
