On May 3–4, 2018, Lisbon (Portugal) held a meeting of the Lisbon Club — an international community of statesmen, international scholars, famous journalists, and business representatives.

President of Portugal Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa started the meeting with opening remarks. In this speech, the Head of State touched upon a number of international security and development issues, as well as the future of European integration, and foreign policy of Portugal.

Ivan Timofeev, RIAC Director of Programs, took part in the work of the Club. He made a report on the current problems of international security and the priorities of Russia's foreign policy in the Euro-Atlantic region.
