On October 20–22 New York hosted a meeting for International Crisis Group's Board of Trustees — an independent multinational NGO dealing with the issues of armed conflicts prevention.

Preliminary results of the organization activities in 2017 and the key areas for the upcoming year were discussed in the course of the meeting. António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, as well as a number of leading experts on conflict situations in different regions of the world, made a speech in front of the Board of Trustees. Andrey Kortunov, RIAC Director Genera, represents Russia in the International Crisis Group's Board of Trustees.
