On November 1, 2017, international broadcaster Al Jazeera held a trilateral teleconference with Moscow, Tehran, and Kuwait on the preliminary results of V.Putin’s visit to Iran.

Andrey Kortunov, RIAC Director General, represented Russia in the course of the discussion.


On November 1, 2017, international broadcaster Al Jazeera held a trilateral teleconference with Moscow, Tehran, and Kuwait on the preliminary results of V.Putin’s visit to Iran.

The participants of the teleconference discussed the current state and the prospects for Russia-Iran bilateral relations in economy, in Eurasian transport corridor North-South infrastructure provision, and in development of nuclear energy in Iran.    

The following issues were touched upon in the course of the teleconference: Russia and Iran’s common and diverging interests in the Middle East, the risks of the U.S. removal from the international deal on Iran’s nuclear dossier, and probable options for the development of the situation around the Persian (Arabic) Gulf. Andrey Kortunov, RIAC Director General, represented Russia in the course of the discussion.
