On March 23 2016 Center for Transatlantic Studies and DGAP (German Council for International Relations) holds a conference "Russia and the West-Building a new Modus Vivendi?". The participants of the conference are well-known experts from the U.S., EU, Russia, discuss the relations in energy and economics, nuclear security, relations of Russia, China and the U.S., European security.

On March 1, Andrey Kortunov, RIAC Director General, spoke at the Geneva Centre for Security Policy. The lecture was devoted to the prospects of relations between Russia and the West in the conext of the EU crisis and new U.S. administration.

On February 20-21, Moscow hosted second bilateral Russia-UK expert workshop on security issues between the two countries. The seminar was organized within the framework of joint RIAC-RUSI (Royal United Services Institute for Defense and Security Studies — RUSI) project. RUSI is a leading British think-tank in the sphere of security issues.

On February 18, Munich hosted Euro-Atlantic Security Leadership Group meeting within the framework of 53rd Munich Security Conference. The Group aims to discuss practical steps to reduce the threat of military conflict in Europe. It unites heads of state, foreign ministers and members of parliaments of many European countries and the U.S., as well as international organizations representatives, public figures and experts.

On February 17-19, 2017 Munich hosts the 53rd Security Conference, the largest annual non-governmental forum where major politicians and experts discuss key issues on the world agenda. In 2017, the Conference mainly focuses on military and political crises in Syria and Ukraine, the fight against terrorism, the future of the European Union and NATO and relations between Russia and the West. The Conference is attended by Igor Ivanov, RIAC President, and Andrey Kortunov, RIAC Director General. Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and Chairman of the RIAC Board of Trustees, is to speak at the “The Transatlantic Relationship and the International Order” session.

On January, 19-20, London hosted Russia-UK expert workshop dedicated to security issues between the two countries. The event was organised within the framework of RIAC-RUSI (Royal United Services Institute for Defense and Security Studies) joint project. RUSI is a leading British think-tank in the sphere of security. The workshop was attended by over 20 experts, former government officials and diplomats with expertise in nuclear and conventional weapons, European security architecture, non-distribution of weapons of mass destruction and unconventional security threats. Igor Ivanov, RIAC President, and Sir Malcolm Rifkind, UK former Foreign Secretary spoke at the event.

On January, 18, Ivan Timofeev, RIAC Director of Programs, gave a speech at Danish Parliament. Russian delegation also included Sergey Markedonov, Russian State University for the Humanities, and Maksim Shepovalenko, Center for Analysis of Strategies and Technologies.

On January 17-18, another Euro-Atlantic Security Leadership Group meeting was held in London. The event is traditionally organized by Nuclear Threat Initiative with the participation of European Leadership Network. The Group unites former and sitting high-ranking officials, diplomats, government representatives and businessmen from the USA, Great Britain, France, Italy, Latvia, Poland, Romania, Netherlands, Sweden and other European countries. The Group meeting discussed latest political events in Europe and the US, current shifts in the public sentiments, possibilities and limitations of international cooperation in the sphere of security. . Igor Ivanov, RIAC President, and Andrey Kortunov, RIAC Director General, participated in the event.

On December 5 Council on Foreign and Defense Policy, Institute of socio-economic and political researches (ISEPR Foundation), Centre for Liberal Strategies (Sofia) with the support of National Research University Higher School of Economics held an International Conference «Hypocrisy vs Democracy: Insincerity Destroying the Global Order after the Cold War». About forty experts, journalists and diplomats from Russia, the USA, Bulgaria, Greece, the UK, and Turkey took part in the conference.
