Russian-Swedish conference ,,The key questions of nuclear deterrence and control over nuclear weapons,, was started in Stockholm

Russian-Swedish conference ,,The key questions of nuclear deterrence and control over nuclear weapons,, was started in Stockholm on the 5th February, 2018. The key questions are: the common questions of Russian-Western relations in the sphere of the international security and also inclusion of non-nuclear strategic weapons in the international negotiation process, establishment of a network of nuclear test monitoring stations through the analysis of atmospheric emissions. The key attention was also paid to the questions of Russian-Swedish cooperation in the sphere of nuclear non-proliferation. Among the participants of the Russian delegation from the RUSSIAN PUGWASH COMMITTEE under the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) at the conference were: Prof. Alexander NIKITIN, Member of the Pugwash Council, Director of the Center for Euro-Atlantic Security of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia (MGIMO University), Chief Researcher of the Primakov National Research Institute of World Economy and International Relations (IMEMO) (The Head of the Delegation) Prof. Nadezhda ARBATOVA, Head of the Department of European Policy Studies of the Primakov National Research Institute of World Economy and International Relations (IMEMO) of the RAS; Acad. Vladimir BARANOVSKY, Academician of the RAS, Scientific Leader of the Center for Situational Analysis of the Primakov National Research Institute of World Economy and International Relations (IMEMO) of the RAS, Professor of the Department of International Relations and Foreign Policy of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia (MGIMO University).
