Worked at the Institute of the Economy of the Global Socialist System of the USSR Academy of Sciences. Director of International Economic and Political Studies of the USSR Academy of Sciences. First secretary of the USSR embassy in Romania.

One of the initiators of the establishment of the Stabilization Fund of the Russian Federation (RF).

At different periods of his career, member of the BODs of major oil compainies (Rosneft, Transneft etc).

Member of the RF Government’s Council on Competiveness and Entrepreneurship. Member of the executive board of the New Economic Association.

Author of over 200 publications and several books, including on the problems of globalization, and on economic development strategies for Russia.
